Yields dropped on the second day of the Wheat Quality Council's Hard Winter Wheat tour on Wednesday, May 18, as scouts recorded an average weighted estimated yield of 37 bushels per acre.

Most retail fertilizer prices continued to be higher in the second week of May 2022 compared to a month ago. Two fertilizers, however, were slightly lower in price this week.

The Wheat Quality Council's annual Hard Winter Wheat tour Day 1 estimated yield results of 39.5 bushels per acre (bpa) on Tuesday, May 17, are in line with USDA projections for Kansas.
July corn was down 2 cents, July soybeans were up 3 1/2 cents and July KC wheat was down 31 1/2 cents.
Cattle remained under some pressure Tuesday despite a decline in corn futures. Cash trading lower kept prices under wraps, even though live cattle are already at a discount to cash. Hogs continued to find support in contracts through October. Packers were very aggressive looking for hogs and had to bid up to find them.
